Goodly evening all...

Still trying to find the right settings and programs to post a good screenshot...

Right now I am using:
BD Sizer
Paint
Picasa 3

Would love to have a Program that would Crop, Add Frames with lots of choices, Resize, Tweak the Screenshot all in One Program and be compatible with Microsoft FSX and Windows 10...

Here is one Screenshot I managed to save out of about six while playing with the three above mentioned programs...

Note the Frame is not right...not sure if it is because I Framed the Screenshot in Picasa 3 and then when I used BD Sizer to resize I Framed again...



Comments and Advice most welcome...

I don't know all that much, but I use the free version of PhotoFiltre, V6.

It'll do far more than I care to learn, and it'll do it simply.

Don't know if PhotoFiltre what you want, but it doesn't hurt to try. Like anything else that's new to you, it may look confusinf until you get used to it.

These were basically one click changes

Auto level to lighten a picture


Select a background & put a frame around a picture, resize the picture, put in a drop shadow


I know that there are better, more powerful, programs, but like I said this is simple and does far more than I need. And did I say free?

I suspect that is the reason Doug. Try using one or the other for a specific feature like frames, not both.

I was busy Paintin an Aircraft and re-arranging some stuff, interior Swappin' and got so involved I forgot , well that and tired, my eyes started givin out, got tired.

I think what you were askin if I remember was this,

theres 2 versions - a FREE version

and a PAY version, I use the pay version

Pretty sure the Free version lets you have the ability to take SCREEN SHOTS, with an assigned key board button of your choosing as well as lets you take Video, but with a little tiny banner at the Top of the screen,,, maybe somebody else who uses the FREE version can shed more light than I.

Hi Doug! I use Snapshot, found here at the V. Just open it, "make it ready" and it hides, then all you do is hit "print screen" and it takes unlimited screenshots, straight to your folder of choice.

Just about every shot is within regulation size, but I have had a few that were too big to upload here, I imagine that was just due to scenery.

I don't think Doug is after a screengrab software. He uses the V key in FSX like most of us.

What he wants is a utility that can crop, resize, add frames & copyright text to the images plus save them at a specified file size in JPEG format. There are many graphic editors capable of some or all of the above but these can be somewhat complicated. I haven't found anything to compare with BD Sizer for this job. Once it's set up it will do everything except crop the image with a single click. (The Crop feature in BD Sizer changes the ratio of the image & is not a conventional crop tool.)

I just hit my Assigned key with Fraps and then it saves it to an assigned folder in my pictures arena.

then I open the picture with my Paint Shop Pro and add fancy titles / text or borders if I want and resize the screen shot and stumble around and upload them to Simviation Screen Shot Arena, as if ya haven't noticed

I guess its kind of a mundane process of doing it really, but I like the way they come out in the end result anyway.

My mommy told me it wasn't goin to be easy

The FSX default V key will do that without any extra software. The shots are saved in high quality BMP format in your Pictures/Flight Simulator X Files folder.
If you wish to post them on this forum or on the Internet they will then need processing in your favourite graphics editor.

BD Sizer is a handy little utility that will do all this for you with just a couple of clicks.
(Once it's set up to your own preferences you can batch process any number of shots with a single click which saves a lot of time & messing about.)

Can't seem to find a Download Site for BD Sizer Version 3.3.3....that works.

A working Link would be most helpful if someone has one...I am still using Version 2.3.1...
