And Harry, please don't bite my head off for this - I like your work, but I have noticed, once or twice, a lack of acceptance for constructive criticism.
Maybe it's because you misinterpret people's comments, but they're only trying to help you improve (which is always possible - you're always learning) and you sometimes seem to see their comments as (I hate to use this word but I can't think of another) a threat...
There is a difference between what, for example, johnuk has said in the past (emphasis on 'has', I don't want to cause offence here - to anyone), which is known as unhelpful, unuseful bitterness, and what most people are currently doing - which is simply trying to help you make the image even better than it already is. They're not saying that there's something explicitly wrong with the image - more 'it's good, but if you did this and this and maybe this, it could be even better'. It's up to you whether to accept that advice or not - but whatever your decision, it's common courtesy to thank them for their advice... they're only trying to help.
I remember a classic example from a fair while ago - and I hate to use old discussions but it illustrates my point well - it was an edit of yours involving three fighters screaming over a hill in what appeared to be vietnam - mic made a comment that followed these lines; 'it's good, but I think the fact that it's the same image repeated for all three fighters rather detracts from the shot' and then, if I remember correctly, you misinterpreted the comment as an attempt to degrade your work. I am sorry to say that the same thing seems to have happened here.
And the same thing sort of applies to this very comment - I'm trying to help you out of what seem to be some unpopular habits - I'm not slagging you off and saying 'you have an attitude problem and you deserve to roast in hell' - I'm not attempting to start an argument and to the best of my knowledge nick wasn't either... please don't interpret my comments as insults. They're not.
I'm not wasting any more time with any of you and your ridiclous, illogical arguments. My work speaks for itself. If you can do better, do it!
Nick, stop whining. You whine like you are an injured innocent but you get real tough when making comments about other's work. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
I'm done. You want to continue this thread? It's yours. I have images to make. Catch me, if you can.
