It's REALLY tough to nail the brightness on night shots because:
1) The gamma on your monitor, at the site and on the monitors of others are very likely all different.
2) If you view it in on your puter in an editor with a black or blue surround, it's going to appear darker with the white surround at the site.
Two tips/tricks:
1) I can send you a very simple tool for adjusting the gamma on your monitor which will assure that you are starting out in the right ball park.
2) You might try viewing images with the native Windows viewer, just for assessing brightness, as that has a white surround which closely matches how it will appear on the site.
Kewl concept, M8! I've always liked night shots! :)
