Pretty simple for me

777-300 for those long haul, VIP party flights
F-14D for the dont mess with me vibe, and sheer coolness
F4U Corsair for a bit of nostalgia
C-17 to haul around some toys
MH-65 to get around town easily
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

I've waited and thought this one over for a while now,

and if it's only one I can own, it would have to be a C150.

- Easy to fly,

-Simple & abundant enough to never become a maintainance problem, as I could learn to fix it myself and parts will be around forever.

-Good on fuel.

- Small enough to land just about anywhere, but plenty of room to bring some friends.

Maybe if you strap them to the wings or something...but I think you'd be better off with at least a 172 for that situation unless you patiently bring them one at a time to your destination.

I'm going to assume that the original question meant ONE airplane.. not one for every situation

[quote]

My needs would be:

-Simple to operate and fly (not needing a ground-crew or co-pilot)

-Reasonably fast (traveling by air at speeds barely twice as fast as driving gets old fast)

-Multi-engine redundancy (for occasional instrument flight, and legs over large bodies of water)

-Able to get in/out of all but the tiniest, grass strips, but still carry a few friends

That pretty much narrows it down to a "Twotter"

If money was not an issue I`d have to go for a Concord as well, if only just for its stunning looks.  I could just stand there and look at it all day, but if i did get bored I could take all my family and freinds with me on top speed tours. Would have to get someone else to fly it of course, dont think I`d get my fat arse in its tiny cockpit.

Failing that, it would have to be a Mig29 OVT for its stunning power and manouverability, unless that would meen having to learn russian...

Sukoi 31 for the weekends maybe.

Realisticly though, if I had to consider the costs... I might just about be able to afford to run a microlight.

A Cessna 172 for going around and flying small distances and a Antonov An 225 rebuild as a huge camper for traveling the rest of the world.

Crash ;) (maybe I need a microlight to fly around inside my An225?)

Like Shane...

..out of all the Aircraft in my Sim Hangar, the one I keep going back to, time and time again, and use most of all, for economy, ease of flight, low maintenance, go anywhere, (almost), perfectly balanced, and quiet enjoyment is....

...my little Cessna 150 Aerobat Trainer/Tourer... :-*...!

She is my pride and joy for touring the countryside...and even has my own registration letters on her fuselage and wings*.... [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]...!

..so there you go Chums.....my choice!... ;)...!

Paul...G-BPLF....and a big grin... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

The lack of imagination in this thread surprises me. The question implies that you have unlimited funds. This means that you could afford to own & operate any aircraft you fancy regardless of cost. The world is your proverbial lobster.

If this were possible do you mean to tell me that you would still choose a little Cessna trainer? Not sure I believe that. :-/ :P

I have an inherent fear of dying, Doug...

So, to be realistic, if I am to trust my luck skywards, it would have to be in an aircraft that I feel I could manage without risking my life and limbs..;)..!

The same goes for any vee-hickle, on land, sea, or in the air.... ;)...!

Bravery is not my middle name...trust me!...;)..!

Paul...looking into the future...and hoping to get there... ;)...!

Flying an Aircraft, (like Sword Swallowing), is a dangerous occupation...;)...!
