foreign aircraft registry look ups

Postby wifesaysno » Mon Jul 09, 2012 1:26 pm

I am looking for a list or at least enough information to create a list of Great Lakes biplanes registered in Europe and Canada. The FAA registry is pretty easy to search through so the US registered aircraft list is not an issue. I just tried G-INFO but that yielded 1 plane and is a little harder to search in an open-ended way.
Any help is much appreciated.

I've always found G-INFO easy enough to use. Perhaps because I'm familiar with it. I typed GREAT LAKES in the Aircraft Type or Name box & got 5 entries.
I expect that's about it for CAA registered aircraft --> http://www.caa.co.uk/application.aspx?catid=60&pagetype=65&appid=1&mode=summary&aircrafttype=GREAT%20LAKES

Other European countries will have their own certification authorities which might or might not have similar databases.
Bear in mind that FAA registrations are commonly seen on US manufactured aircraft in Europe.

There is also a Great Lakes UK website which might be some help. http://www.greatlakes2t.co.uk/

PS. Aviation photo websites like Airliners.net can be useful for this sort of thing. Great Lakes 2T-1A

I typed exactly that just 2hrs ago in a GINFO database search the same exact way and it yielded 1.  :-?

About the 'restoring Dream catcher' site, I have actually referred to that many times working on our Great Lakes. That feller has put up a lot of useful information! He seems to have done a wonderful job with his restoration and I commend him for his enthusiasm of the plane.
