Never really noticed - most of the publicity has been over the eventual first flight of the 787! :)

"It became clear that late maturity of engineering designs has caused greater than expected re-work and disruption in manufacturing"

Yes, the weather was so bad this year that maturity of engineering designs was experienced by most companies. Possibly a late frost earlier in the year......................Or more BS jargon that is used to cover design cock-ups that required redesigning ;D

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Second buyer, finally!

Postby chornedsnorkack » Sat Dec 05, 2009 7:51 am

Second airline bought Boeing 747-800:

http://www.flightglobal.com/articles/20 ... spell.html
Note:

So far, nobody has bought 747-800 instead of A380. Both the 747-800 customers bought A380 too, KE this year.

Boeing has now sold more VLAs than Airbus this year - Airbus a total of four (2 to Korean, 2 to Outre Mer 380), Boeing five all to KE.

That is a big lead. ::) Seriously though, congrats to Boeing for actually selling their product.

Delivered!

A private jet at that:

The emir of Qatar is suspected as the lucky owner of the first 747 since 2005.
