as u all know Biman is one of the last civil operators to fly this tri-jet classic(my inner intuisions say that they are the only civil operator)...what are your thoughts on this as they will be soon phased out of Biman's fleet since the 777s have started to arrive from october???

Well FedEx has a large fleet of DC-10s (60 to 70-ish, I think?). So it will be quite a few more years before the DC-10 is completely phased out of civil service.

Aye, certainly for the next decade whilst half the west's armed forces are in the middle east!

Comfy business class seats though... ;D

The only business seats I ever got to use on Crab Air was in the back of a Herc flying from Goose to Gut. I found a bit cargo net that was going from one pallet to another and was nicely sagging between them. As soon as we were able to get up, I jumped between. The only time I was ever able to sleep on a Hercules ;D ;D

Saw one a few years back at Manchester....looked like it was about to fall apart on the taxiway. I certainly wouldn't fancy flying on an airliner that old that's probably been maintained pretty poorly. Weren't they banned from the EU for a while?

Trust me mic, just because it's got a shiny new paint job or looks clean, it is no reflection of the age or condition of any airliner..............

I think most, if not all the FedEx are rebuilt to MD-10 standard
