If you could Modify Any Aircraft...

Postby OVERLORD_CHRIS » Sun May 30, 2010 8:29 am

Ok if you had either unlimited funding, or was backed by a company, or owned a company that was to modify any aircraft, to include helicopters, Military & gliders. What one, or ones would you do for costumers or your self, and why? Go into as much detail as you like.

Don't be bashful, feel free to post many times if you have lots of ideas for many different Aircraft

I would love to put amphibious floats on a PC-12.

If you put a little turbine on a J3 - 200shp would be fine.

I've actually wondered if anyone has thought of putting a smallish turbine on one of the Van's RV series aircraft.

What qualifies as "modification" rather than a new aircraft?

Thrust vectoring and modern guts in the F-14.

B-52 built to the specs of Dale Brown's 'Old Dog'

B-36 with B-2 engines in place of the props.

F-15 that turns into a robot with a superiority complex.

A turbine Cessna 150 with forward swept wings, full glass panel, and retractable gear. Not much of the original plane would be left after that though....  ;D

The B-52 comment gave me a thought.  There was talk of upgrading the Buff's engines to more powerful high bypass fans, and to reduce the number from 8 to 4.  I would also think the same could be done with the 747.  They could put just two of the engines from the 777 on a 747 with power to spare.
