Will LH order Cseries?

Postby chornedsnorkack » Wed Jan 28, 2009 1:23 pm

Bombardier Cseries does not have any customers as yet. LH has a Letter of Interest, not Intent but Interest, for 30 frames, and Eznis Airways has LO Interest as well, for 7.

Nevertheless, people are claiming that a firm order is imminent - this week.

Is that credible?

If yes, note that Dornier 728 had firm Lufthansa orders, too. And is yet to fly. Bombardier is also suffering delays with CRJ 1000.

If the plane ever entered service, it would not be before 2013. And Bombardier shall build C110 first, C130 later.

Well, at least Cseries is not entering into service after A350, and A350 has a plenty of firm orders. Also, Boeing plans no new narrowbody before 2020, and Airbus is not replacing A320 either. How would a C130 perform compared to a B737-600?

Hardley the fault of LH that Dornier went bust before the first flight, so compareing one order to the other is not realistic.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
