The first sentence of the article amuses me.  It refers to two groups of people:  Those who can afford these planes and those who pretend they can afford these planes.  LOL!!!!

That don't look like a 10-12 degree pitch. Is the pilot drunk.

Seeing as the article says that the buyer is not American or European, my money goes on a member of one of the royal families from an OPEC member.

Hey, I'm just going by precedent. I remember seeing something on the history channel awhile ago about similar things, and many of the owners of said objects were princes of Arab nations. For example, a silver car, yes, elemental silver, as in Ag, not stainless steel, and not electroplated either... Or how about a palace that puts the Versailles and Schloss Sanssouci combined to shame?

It was Probably Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal Alsaud(Saudi Arabia) who
bought it....have you seen his palace?

He's not the first, and I certaintly dont expect him to be the last.  Highly impractical.  Id love to see someone turn a C-17 into a private jet.  Fly to virtually anywhere  with the STOL capabilities.

Hey, wait til I get my hands on an Antonov An-225 (pictures of 124 coming as soon as I find my camera lol). I will take out the APU...and replace it with a tap...that sprays out beer, from a HUGE tank located inside the plane.
