It looks like a D model, but could also be the earlier B model..
But don't know how old it is thought.. maybe a 20, 30 years?

From my limited knowledge of Iroquois variants, I'd say that it's a UH-1D.

That is indeed a D model... on the earlier models, the cowling started right at rotor axel, on this one it is projected forward a little (if that makes any sense)

And the H's had more cowling that actually extended back over the exaust outlet

Yep. That is famous Bell UH-1D. Until last year, one of it with the "SAR"-sign was flying daily over Hamburg, Germany (where I live). Hamburg had (I think) 2 or three of them. 3 years ago on of it crashed because the pilot was drunk. 5 people died (sad story, I saw the helo with the now dead pilot a few weeks before that happened landing right in front of me on the street). Last year they sorted the Bell UH-1D out.

Was like a shock for Hamburg, because this helo is a legend for us.

Now we got a new one, a Bell 212 "Christoph 29":

Our new helo in front after TO. Mark the old bell parking in background.
