Can someone tell more about Convair B-36?

Sounds quite an interesting and weird plane. 10 engines - 4 jets and 6 propellers. Propellers pushing at the trailing edge - with engines designed to operate in the other direction. The biggest wheels ever (the later planes have had bogies with more numerous and smaller wheels).

What is a B-36 cockpit like, and how is it simulated?

Not all B-36's had the jet engines. The jet engines were introduced only with the B-36D.

To stand in between the B-36 and the B-70 in the Air Force Museum at Wright-Patterson is an experience I'll never forget...........

Apparently this idea was tried with various types including the P-40, C-82 & B-50.

If you want to see good colour footage of the B-36 try & get hold of the film Strategic Air Command.

If you can get a hold of it, watch the excellent Jimmy Stewart movie: Strategic Air Command. It has some wonderful sequences of the aircraft in it.

Also, it seems to me that all the previous B-36 models were upgraded to D's with the addition of the turbine engines. Am I correct in saying that?
