Meh.. who gets to decide anyway? Probably some big-wig in a 100th floor office who dosen't care..


No, no, no. It will be decided by a committee who needed to spend some time in a top notch hotel in an area of the world that holds the lead in natural beauty, so that the members can soak up the ambience with a view to producing the best name possible.

Or the short version.

"Guys, we need a new name for the F 35, so first things first, how much can we screw the tax payer on this, I am thinking Tahiti"

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Is "Hummingbird" OK ???
Both F-35B and hummingbird can do STOVL/STOL!

Hows about they call it 'Pig'.

I understand it's carrier capabilities are at the moment comparable. ;D

Both F-35B and hummingbird can do STOVL/STOL!



Been done before. LM would need to pay gazillions in royalties to use the DH.53's name... ;)

Been done. The Harrier GR5 was in RAF circles called "The Plastic Pig" or "The leaping Heap"
