That isn't a sr-71, but the A-12. Which was meant as a bomber but proved to be too expensive.

Anyway, the baton of 'fastest in-service aircraft' is back where it came from: MiG-25R
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur
