I have a question. Can a B744 fly more than 8000nm? I have reasd somewhere that a B744 once completed a flight from London to Sydney which is much more than 8000 but
www.airliners.net states a 7400nm range.

Depends on load
UAE and Oman VIP ones go a lot more than 8000NM, as their load is lower (even with marble baths and golden toilets, they seat around 50 passengers at max)

Yes, a 747-400 can easily fly non stop from London to Sydney, empty! Has been done I believe a few times but once you load passengers, cargo, etc. you've goto stop somewhere.
