dc-8 spoilers

Postby eldorado59 » Fri May 28, 2004 8:52 am

I have been reading that early models of the Douglas DC-8 did not have spoilers.  However, I know that the model 63 (DC-8-63) had spoilers because there was a famous Air Canada accident where the spoilers had accidentally been extended on flare.  Does anyone know which models of the DC-8 had spoilers?  Thanks.   :)

The DC-8 has GROUND spoilers.
That's a different thing than the normal spoilers.
They used inflight reverse for braking while airborne
