Nazi Germany + V2 rockets + the atomic bomb = the unthinkable. That's one equation that never happened, but the potential was there, and given time, it could have.

The V-2, granddad of NASA's Saturn V rocket. And thanks to who ... ? That fellow in the dark suit, that's who.

There was a joke going around after the shock of Sputnik in 1957 -- the President of the United States called in his experts and asked ``What happened? How did the Russians get so far ahead of us in rocket technology?'' His advisors answered:
"Their Germans were better than our Germans.''
