Jerry S. Parr (born September 16, 1930) - (October 9, 2015) was a retired Secret Service Agent. He was one of the agents protecting President Reagan on the day of his assassination attempt on March 30, 1981.

On March 30, 1981, John Hinckley, Jr. opened fire on newly elected President Reagan as Reagan exited the Washington Hilton Hotel after giving a speech. Upon hearing gunshots, Parr pushed Reagan into the President's limousine, which started heading to the White House. Parr noticed that Reagan was bleeding and ordered the limousine to go to the hospital.

"Jerry Parr was one of my true heroes," Nancy Reagan said in a statement Friday. "Without Jerry looking out for Ronnie on March 30, 1981, I would have certainly lost my best friend and roommate to an assassin's bullet.

You know, this used to be a helluva good country. I don't understand what's gone wrong with it. - George Hanson, 1969
