So she passes this onto me to do some research as I do all the military history on this family project. Turns out (after a fun afternoon) that my Great Uncle Leonard Titmus was in the RAF, a rear-gunner on Lancasters, he was in 166 Squadron and was the sole survivor of the crew of PB135 when it was shot down on a mission to bomb Nuremberg on the 17th March 1945.
I've managed to find some records on the pilot (a New Zealander) Flt. Sgt. Eric Alexander Roy too.
Man but family history is interesting, we've gone from a name on the tree to quite a bit of history, I'm now trying to get his full service record

Oh and I've even found a photo of PB135 on the internet!
