Good call, Masabi, that was my thought too. Gonna put this book on my to-read list.

I remember reading the English language edition Alive! (pinched it off the wife) before seeing the film. The film was okay but the book caused me to lose a nights sleep as I couldn't put it down! An amazing tale of mans adaptability and determination to survive against incredible odds.
