Why is the North Korea/Trinity thread locked?

I thought it was customary to explain why someone chose to lock a thread.

If it's just that one racist sentence why not just ask Jetranger to delete it. I doubt it offends anyone here anyway.

Simple really Jim, there is a very clear rule on no politics and that is a blatant breach.
Threads like this are ALWAYS locked before trouble kicks off. Trust me the mods have seen things less than this turn into firestorms. Hence the instant lock.
We also have the same rule on religious discussions. Both subjects are just guaranteed trouble. Hence why we have the rule.
