Woodstock at Wikipedia

August 15-18, 1969

Well, I came upon a child of God
He was walking along the road
And I asked him, Tell me, where are you going?
This he told me

Said, I'm going down to Yasgur's Farm,
Gonna join in a rock and roll band.
Got to get back to the land and set my soul free.

We are stardust, we are golden,
We are billion year old carbon,
And we got to get ourselves back to the garden.

Here's a tune from a guy who was "getting a bit old now" - My Generation

[color=#003300]Maybe this should be linked into the entertainment section. Although I may not agree with all things from that era, lyrically speaking, I managed to collect a number of vinyl disks for a few dollors or less as the vinyl era fizzled (also inherited numerous bakelite 78s from my mom). With my financial status in jeopardy, I'm hoping to, somehow, retain them and also transfer these to CD:
Mamas & Papas [oops! I just had to insert the 2nd 'a' in Papas ::)],
Animals,
Association,
Beatles [while they were all on the beat],
Beau Brummels,
Bee Gees,
Box Tops,
Byrds,
Creedence (but I already have original CDs for most of their songs),
DC5,
Neil Diamond,
Doors

Not Woodstock specific but yes, there are a number of others I remember.

Bob Dylan, The Byrds, The Band, Simon and Garfunkle, Steppenwolf, The Doors, Cream.

After achieving fame and fortune headliner Jimi Hendrix died a year after Woodstock, on September 18, 1970.

He would soon be followed by Janis Joplin, on October 4, 1970.

Both were 27 years old.

Not playing Woodstock may have contributed to the longevity of Doors vocalist Jim Morrison.  He lived until July 3, 1971.

He was 27 years old.

The Outsiders?!? Yeah, I remember them, 'Time Won't Let Me',
I'll Give You Time, Help Me, Girl...
Box Tops, 'The Letter',
Cry Like a Baby and Neon Rainbow. The write-up on the album case (presently in hand) mentions as a rumor what I read in another write-up years ago: their main singer, Alex Chilton, was 15 and used amphetamines to lower his voice.
Jefferson Airplane, 'Somebody To Love',
White Rabbit, It's No Secret...
Standells, 'Dirty Water'.
I do have that song somewhere (they were from Boston and I also had a semester of school in 1970's Boston); in hand is their Why Pick on Me?/Sometimes Good Guys Don't Wear White album.
Oh yeah, the Brummels tune was 'Laugh, Laugh',
and Just a Little.

There's a number of others, groups and solo singers, I've not listed; some of it goes back before us.

[quote]Wow, great list! Having been an active rocker from 1967-1973, I lived and played it all.
