Just read on another forum, the former RCAF, RAF "Eagle" Sqn commander, and then later USAAF ace, has passed away, a few days before his 90th birthday.

Possibly the US pilot who flew more against the axis powers than any of his countrymen.

RIP.

A man who believed totally in "teamwork" and carried no additional personal embellishments or victory markings on his fighter aircraft........Could do with a bit of that being taught in todays society.

How can we who enjoy the gift of Freedom we have today ever begin to thank these men who risked everything for us so many, many years ago? I have a friend who fought in WWII and Korea. He's almost 81. He tells great stories about his war times. I always thank him for his service...
