I won't add to or subtract from your statement.

This anniversary, one of the most significant in European and American history, sadly becomes less significant every year for political reasons that I am not allowed to discuss here.

But real historians will never forget the battles that were fought on that and subsequent days in June of 1944.

On the way back from Biggin Hill, we visited a couple of places in France. We went to the BlockHaus at Eperlecques and then to La Coupole Both constructions being 5 meter thick concrete. Tall boys and Grandslam bounced off them. Well worth a visit if you happen to be close by (only 15 miles from Calais)
On the way back we went via Flanders Fields and a few of the war cemeteries............Makes you think.

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.
