1805 - Hans Christian Andersen, Danish author, poet and storyteller was born.
1814 - Erastus B. Bigelow, founder of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was born
1834 - Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi, French sculptor of the Statue of Liberty, was born.8-)
