30 years ago today (27th march)...

Maybe some of the older guys remember the news pictures of this...
KLM and Pan Am 747s collided at Tenerife killing over 500.
Still #1 on the list of worst crashes.
For the record, #2 is the one with th Il-76 that had a midair with a Saudi 747 on Haji flight... because of metric / feet misreading
Russian planes: IL-76 (all standard length ones),  Tu-154 and Il-62, Tu-134 and [url=http://an24.uw.hu/]An-24RV[/ur

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

A mention of this on the news yesterday.  I remember when that happened.  There's also been some rather close calls since then that would have resulted in a similar disaster had the worst happened.  583 (?) peopled died.

I had a similar thought while reading this...but more in the terms of "Peanuts...sheesh! Two A380....now that would go "bang"!" :D
