The Golden Spike

Postby flyboy 28 » Wed May 10, 2006 2:16 pm

Heres something for you train fans. Today in 1869 I think it was the first trans-continental railroad was connected in Utah. One group started on the east coast and the other in the west coast and joined together. It was symbolized by driving a golden spike at the joining point.

Cool eh? I think Fozzer was a wee lad then.. :)

One of those truley awesome acheivements.  I watched a documentary about it a while back.  Some impressive terrain that they had to go through/under/over.
Who switched the lights off?
