Wow, did we miss the 25th anniversary of the first Space Shuttle launch?  It happened April 12th, 1981, the day my brother was born. ;D ;)

LOL, thats OK man-I miss things all the time.   8)

I was actually planning on posting a big thing on the 12th about the Vostok 1 flight on 4/12/1961 and the STS-1 flight on 4/12/1981 but Ozzy beat me to it and mentioned the Russian Vostok 1 mission which put the first man in space.  So, I just added the shuttle to that.   ;)

I used to work for NASA at Edwards.  The first time I saw a shuttle, I was awestruck.  You end up getting used to it.  The only shuttle I was allowed to get close to was Enterprise.  I litteraly stood underneath it's wings.  Been in the Shuttle 747.  Pretty cool experience.

I was only at NASA for 6 months becuase it was an internship through the school I was attending.  My wife decided she hated living in the desert, so that was the end of my NASA career, but I'm never forget those 6 months.
