Indian cemetry in Germany re-opens

Until recently there was nothing to identify the quiet, leafy spot where Jafarullah Mohammad and Mata Din Singh were buried. The two servicemen were among thousands of Indian volunteers who fought for Britain in the first world war, and were captured at sea or on the western front.

Very intersting. I don't think most people are aware that India had anything to do with that war. I certainly didn't know that.

I knew a fair bit about WWII but I'd only heard of a small Indian force in action in WWI so that is why I thought to post it as it was RATHER interesting 8)
