Well on this day in 1978 Eagle II with her crew Ben Abruzzo, Larry Newman and Max Anderson completed the flight from Maine in the US to France after 6 days. The first successful crossing of the Atlantic by balloon
There are two types of aeroplane, Spitfires and everything else that wishes it was a Spitfire!
But that was long after the first successful crossing while filled with hot air. [I may need to deflate and employ parachute before I get shot with a counter-claim for that one ]
