Sheee, forgive our ignorance, Felix ; that was before I existed and none of my relatives from past generations talked much about car racing even though a race track sits on what was once the property of my grandmother (my dad's mom).
My mother put a definitive stop to my dad's racing when he was heading for Indianapolis and talking about it was out of the question (even what little was told me was later on away from my mother's ears -- it wasn't to her liking but I had a little more contact with them once I was older and my parents were divorced).
(... and, people, we know his headline was meant jestfully.. sort of.,.. maybe.. oh, heck, Felix, fend for yourself )

Watching a bunch of Rednecks drive 500hp, passenger cars around in a circle 200 times is certainly much more exciting than watching a purpose built, 1000hp, 20,000rpm, carbon fiber, missile tear up a technical course.  ::)
