Start of Spanish Civil War

Postby Felix/FFDS » Mon Jul 18, 2005 10:51 am

Today, July 18th, is marked as the start of the Spanish Civil War in 1936, which lasted until 1939.  It may have petered out earlier if not for the international support given to both sides - to the Republicans by the Communists (Soviet Russia and leftist organizations), and to the Nationalists (Germany, Italy..)

Alas leading to Franco which wasn't all that good, and giving German pilots lots and lots of practice in combat.....
