...regardless, congratulations to Marine Corps Major General Peter Pace, on his nomination to become the first Marine to hold the position of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

General Peter Pace (a Maj Gen in star speak is only a 2-Star, Gen Pace is a 4-Star). Checking his biography, he was promoted from Maj Gen in 1996 . Became a 4-Star in 2000...
