Korea

Postby ozzy72 » Tue Jul 27, 2004 5:42 am

At 2PM today in 1953 the ceasefire between North and South Korea began. This is the last Cold War conflict still going on, and the DMZ is still the most heavily mined area in the world. Let us hope one day this problem can be solved...

It took four months for the news of my birth to get to Korea and then the parties were numbed into not fighting.  The shock of the event is still evident.

All things considered, it's still the "Forgotten War".

Odd Felix as a few months after my birth the US stopped putting men on the moon, and dedicated all pilots to bridge defence ;D

Which reminds me - I need to hunt for an article on the exploits of a Hudson pilot (RAF)  that in pressing a harbour attack found himself going under a bridge and almost hitting some protective cables dangling ....

If you're into Tr9s  (funny, I thought Triumph stopped at the TR.8), there's a conversion kit for GBP24.99
