Doolittle Raiders

Postby jimclarke » Mon Jul 12, 2004 2:15 pm

Over the years on a few occasions I have found small articles mentioning the one B-25 that landed and was interned in Russia.  The articles claimed the aircraft still existed and negotiations were underway to return the aircraft to the USA.  Has anyone else heard of this and is there any truth to it?  That would be quite a find.

Official records indicate that the pilot chose the course because Russia was close and he was low on fuel, but Nolan Herndon, now 83, and the plane
