Yes, but only drawing it on a parchment using a quill and inkwell set (to have a mental image, look at Hex in the Discworld TV adaptation), might be a little slow, though... ;D

Babbage is new to me, so I Googled, really cool stuff on him at Wikipedia, worth reading.
