The previous Afghan war

Well 16 years ago today the last Soviet soldiers left Afghanistan after almost 10 years of brutual war...
Seems some people never learn the lessons of history ::) Even with the Maxim gun the British eventually got kicked out...

Tis strange that there is one thing that I always immediately associate with Afghanistan...
