Just found out the other day that in his historic flight of the Vin Fiz aircraft, Cal Rodgers landed in a field just west of the city of Kent. This occured one year after the university opened, and shortly after a public use airport was built in the exact same spot.  

Now the city has all but built right onto airport property and they are talking about moving all flight operations to another airport which is farther away.  As of right now I do not see this happening that soon since the airport has recieved money from the government and must remain in operation for so many years after that, so we shall see...
