Herr Hess

Postby ozzy72 » Tue Aug 17, 2004 10:36 am

Well 17 years ago Rudolf Hess the last of the Nazi leadership died in Spandau prison aged 93.
He had spent 46 years in Spandau, the final 21 as the sole inmate.

Interesting. Local legend has it that Hess was held at Wiston House, Steyning for the latter part of WWII. There's no mention of it in the official history. http://www.wiltonpark.org.uk/web/about/history.html
This is a beautiful historic manor house in idyllic surroundings & now a conference centre.

From a book I'm currently reading it's debatable whether Hitler knew about his unconventional peace mission. Although both denied this it seems almost certain that he not only knew about it but also gave it his approval.

Another conspiracy theory?

I wouldn't put it past Hitler to authorize an unauthorized peace mission, but both Hess and Hitler took the secret to their graves

Another conspiracy theory?

Not at all. Nothing much went on in Nazi Germany without Hitler's knowledge. In fact, most things were done on his explicit orders although some might never have been recorded or acknowledged if it all went pear-shaped.

The book I mentioned is a meticulously researched biography of Albert Speer. It's a fascinating read. http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0330346970/026-3045652-7422037

Sorry to be late about this one. But what about the theory that the man who died in Spandau wasn't Hess. There's quite a lot of evidence to back this up.

Hi Woody. Do you have any references? Albert Speer was in Spandau for many years & knew Rudolf Hess well. He had no doubts it was the right man.

Yeah, I heard about that too Woody...........but of course I have no life............................. ::)

Theres this theory that the real Rudolf Hess died (maybe) in a B-24 crash in Sweden, on his way to peace talks about turning off the western front and invading Russia. But the only funny thing about that is that a body was missing from the crash site, and there is a great possiblity that body was Hess's.

Also at the trials, Hess never seem to remember what he did, or even who he was........................probably because hes not who everybody (including himself) think he is.

There is alot more evidences, too many to list here ;)

Well better get back to my book, some stupid prigram's diary............I still can't believe that my English teacher made us read on our fist day >:(
