I'll tell you what...

....sceptical ol' me, (as always), looking at that Barnacle-covered wreck, admire the confidence of all those who are hoping to put it all back together again!

My 1932 Brookland's Riley 9 restoration was much more successful...(no Barnacles)... ;) ...!

Fozz, thing that were recovered in worse state than that regularly fly at airshows around the world - a Mk 1 Spit recovered in a similar state from the beach in Calais in the early 80s springs to mind!

From this: 1940

to this: Early 1980s

then this: post dig!

It now looks like this!

NOW!

Where there's a will, and the dosh, it'll happen. It's a shame the original plan to built the cradle failed, as the final lift, as the photos and video show, caused a hell of a lot of damage. It needed a bit more support at the extremities!

I can only imagine what you finish up with, is a modern replica of the original aircraft, with mostly salvaged, new, and refurbished parts from other aircraft.
The only original item being the identification plate(s)?

Much of my Riley was re-built from non-original parts!

Only its bare chassis, engine, transmission, wheels, and number-plate were original.

The rest consisted of modern (re-built body, etc) parts.

It certainly wasn't the original motor car, when finished!

The other option was leave it rot in original condition on the seabed. Better a representative example at Hendon methinks. <<q
