But who is the blocked out order? 

If I'm not mistaken, that blocked out spot was the leasing company ILFC, who have sinced cancelled their order for the A380.

ILFC would make sense. I doubt they could be quite sure of their business model working with such a specialist aircraft post the 2008 drop in the market.
