That article is typically misleading. The accident involved a turboprop engine from a C-130 Hercules. It was mounted on a test stand less prop at the time of the incident.
For once the Daily Mail got it right.

SAD :'( But i was reading the comments and that just shows haw trolls are everywhere >:( >:(. And typical news on a website such as yahoo. showing a turbofan instead of a propeller. That could really mislead people

. That article was almost as Osama kill shot on ABC

Odd story, that needs the accident report to clarify rather than the press. Running a turbo prop without a prop attached, would destroy the engine. Normally, a water wheel and large water tank are attached to simulate the prop. When attached, there is very little space left to get sucked in..............

awwwwn man! this sucks literally!
I mean accidents happens , and sometime we take stupid risks ..maybe the "experienced engineer " didn't take the cautions as it should
at least was fast
sorry for their family who has to deal and face this tragedy caused by himself
