low flying aircraft behavoir... coventry uk

heya people, not sure if this is a wild goose chase,

but tonight, we had a very low flying aircraft over our house, and it was quite disturbing for me and my family. we're quite a distance away from any local airports and not on any approach patterns. plus this aircraft was seriously motoring!! i heard it coming, sounded like it was about to hit the house... the house shook, so i jumped to the window but it was dark. saw its lights heading away from the window, and i'd say it was a single engine prop, possibly turbo (by the sound of things), perhaps 50ft above the houses. i know this insnt normal and as ive already said, it was doing some speed!! i wouldnt even fly like this in FS!

so my question, is there a way of finding out what it was and why it was flying so low and fast at 10.30pm in an area it shouldnt have been in... especially not at that low altitude!!!?! or is there a way of reporting it? im in the UK, near coventry, in the midlands, so if anyone has any links i can follow or numbers i can phone to find out more i would be most grateful. I have checked out the CAA but the "reporting, information requests and appeals" section seems to be geered towards pilots. in the meantime ill carry on google-ing!

thanks in advance

Carriers would be so mush easier to land on if they would just stop turning!!!

If you live in Coventry there are several airports/airfields in the vicinity.

i'd say it was a single engine prop, possibly turbo (by the sound of things)

This might sound stupid but are you sure it wasn't a helicopter? The Sussex police helicopter often flies low over my house late at night. http://www.emasu.co.uk/

Birmingham Airport ATC would probably be your best bet.
