I thought about dropping this in the History section, but the fact is it is stil a thriving airport.

I took my first "discovery" flight in a 172 here ages ago.

There is small museum struggling to get off the ground (so to speak) there as well.

I love this place. I even convinced my wife that we should have some of our formal engagement photos taken there. I find excuses to go there. Even use the trail, and call it exercise, just so I can plane spot from all around it.

Back in the seventies when I worked in West by God, we occasionally had the use of a coal company third base box at the old Riverfront Stadium.

A place on my list of "somedays"... very cool airport. With the coolest FAA employee ever- Martha Lunken herself. She writes very well about her passion for flying...

As often as I go there, I have never run into her.
Her Cessna 180 was at the Aviation Days last year or the year before.

By the way, the Aviation Days weekend is THIS WEEKEND, so if you need an excuse to fly in....

I will be there with my camera.
