Saw something strange fly over

So I was out on a test drive (for work) and i see in the distance a helicopter with rather large rotors, and what looked to be wings. I pulled into the parking lot at my work just in time for it to fly over me. Getting a better look, I'd have to say it looked an awful lot like a MI-24 Hind. Had a large "bubble" under the nose, gear that was retracted, and large wings with several hardpoints. Keep in mind, I live in Florida... so this is not a helicopter you see, ever!

But then again, I work just a few miles from Hurlburt Field, which is the Air Force's special ops command base, and they do have a few MI-17's that I guess they train with. Maybe now they have an MI-24 as well! Sorry, no pics as I was not prepared, but will keep on the lookout for it again.

I believe there may be some civilian Mi24s out there.

EDIT: There are actually 7, 2 in Texas, 5 in Oregon.

Hmmm, interesting. Too bad there are no pictures. I'd be able to tell better that way, seeing if the camo paint was the same. But it flew from the general area of Hurlburt... so it may belong to the air force.

This might be one of the Texas ones, but it does look like the Army owns a few.

That would make sense if the Army had a few. They train right along side the Air Force here. We usually have Ospreys flying around on a daily basis, so seeing the Hind was pretty neat! I'd almost wanna say the camo on the one I saw was a blue/gray scheme. Then again it was hard to tell cause if flew right over head.
