Not sure I quite understand what happened there. Which type of glider can carry pilot plus two passengers?
Nobody mentioned the parachute in the video. Did someone bale out of one of the other aircraft?*
*PS. OK. I see that the aircraft was a Cirrus. The glider is a Schweizer 2-32.

Hagar,
The tow a/c was a Piper Pawnee. The glider company allows 2 passengers only if 1 of them is a child, and if they're under the allowable weight for the glider (I don't remember what the limit was).
The accident occurred near Rocky Mountain Airport outside of Boulder, CO (KBJC), formerly Jeffco County Airport. KBJC is an uncontrolled airport... Radar & ATC were being handled by Denver Center that day.
Tragic event... my condolences go out to the families.
