An accomplished man passes away

Postby aussiewannabe » Sat Jan 23, 2010 8:41 pm

A former employer and long time friend of my dad passed away this week:

I remember him as the one who flew my family in a Cessna 411 from Corpus Christi, TX to live in Lubbock, TX in the early 70s. He later flew us and some friends from Lubbock to Grand Prairie, TX in a DC-3 to go to Six Flags over Texas.

RIP Harold

Sorry to hear this... but you have to explain how he soloed "16 students in 1:23 minutes"...  what does that mean, exactly?   :-?

I could have sworn that it said 1 hour 23 minutes when I read it.

I'll try to do some research on it.

I'm sure it meant 1 hr. 23 mins...
Still, what does that mean? He signed off six students on the same day and they all soloed in the same plane in 1 hour and 23 minutes?

I've checked the local library for copies of Guinness World Records. They go back as far 2002.

I know you mean well in wanting to get to the heart of the matter, but the fact is it isn't up to me to explain to you how he achieved the record., but more than likely the time frame given is probably a typo.

There is no doubt in my mind that Mr. Cadd was a highly capable flight instructor/pilot who didn't take shortcuts just to get 15 minutes of fame.
