BA in its present form is only 35 years old this year. BOAC was merged with BEA to become the nationalised British Airways in 1974. The airline was privatised in 1987 after record losses were written off by the government. As for supporting Britain, it does that when it suits itself. Doing away with the Union flag tail markings is just one episode that leaves a nasty taste in the mouth.

You might have gathered that our "national carrier" is not my favourite airline. ;)

1. Captain, if the problem is not entered into the technical logbook.........then the aircraft does not have a problem.
2. And, if you have time to write the fault on a napkin and attach to it to the yoke.........you have time to write it in the tech log....see point 1.

Had it not been for unfair Government support in the pre sell off days, it would have been bust long ago
