Just come across this post over at the FlyPast/Key Publishing forum, taken by a chap on a visit to Duxford in the summer of 1968. Of course Duxford was a little different at the time; the production team hadn't quite accidentally blown up a hangar at that point, there was half a chateau, and a nice 1940 dispersal site...

What great shots, thanks for posting them...wonderful.  

The building with "TEA" on it got me to thinking, there is an old grass airstrip not more than probably a hours drive from me that looks just like that.
What happened was back in the early 50s a young farmer lad wanted to learn to fly.  His father rolled a grass strip for him on the farm, they put up a building and the young lad was killed on his first solo.
The father would not let anyone use the strip and boarded up the building which is still there.  Sad.
