This happened at my home airport yesterday (Sunday):

Bomb Squad Called to Middleton Airport

Middleton police and the Dane County Bomb squad are investigating a suspicious item found at the Middleton Airport.

The suspicious item is described as a pipe-like device, strapped to a fuel truck near the main terminal. The airport and area surrounding has been evacuated.

Luckily it turned out to be a hoax, but it's pretty scary to think about what could have happened if it weren't - especially when you know the people they're talking to in the article who would have been affected. :-/

What freaking idiots would play a hoax like that? Have they been living in a cave, or do they fall within the short tail of the normal distribution?

wow i cant imagine if that happened at my airport, 4D0. An event here is when a cessn ablows a cylinder head LOL, everyones talking about it, but something like this would just be 'bombastic' for the lack of a better word! btw, can this guy be arrested on any kind of charges?

Apparently he's facing federal charges if he's caught, which he hopefully will be soon.

An innocent prank is one thing, but a fake bomb is taking it too far...

Better yet, he should be charged and tried as a terrorist, and then executed... >:(
